About Me

I am an avid book reader, who has recently found her way back to a life of books after a several year break. It all came about when I found myself straining to read the print on a page, shortly after my son was born, and sure enough I soon learned I was in need of a good pair of glasses.

The only problem was, I just really hated wearing them. They made my skin itch at the bridge of my nose, and no matter what type the optometrist offered me, I just really struggled with getting used to them. So, I didn’t wear them. And as a result, I stopped reading, and turned up the front size of my laptop to compensate. My son, once he had learned to read, was drafted to help me read small print when I needed to, and I coped like that for a while. I read sometimes on my e-reader, but still struggled and it was infrequent.

It wasn’t till I subscribed to monthly book subscription box (Owlcrate) in December as an Christmas present to myself that I bit the bullet, so to speak, and decided to wear my glasses and read. After spending that much on the monthly box, and seeing it all packaged up so nicely with all the goodies inside, I couldn’t let it go to waste. And I went all in on glasses, wearing them from waking up till I finally closed the book I was devouring at 2am.

And so here we are now, three months later and I seem to be making up for lost time.
